Often in our online group images will appear next to each other- despite the random order, or wildly variant date they're invited in- that are beautifully congruous, or perversely consonant. Here's one of my favorite accidental parings representing the former from the far, far past of 'you are not a dinosaur's' 23,000+ images. Find more at flickr.com/groups/notadinosaur. T.W.
“You are not a dinosaur” began as a cooperative of 7 photographers. We took our name from a line in Bruce Holland Rogers’ (very) short story “Dinosaur” which asks how individuals cede (or don’t) to society’s expectations of becoming responsible grown-ups. This site allows us to bring to light artists, groups, and events from around the world that seem engaged in consonant thematic pursuits. T.W. 9.11.11 'You are not a dinosaur' on Flickr

What a great idea! I, too, have wrestled with this skill for years..

I find most diptychs highly contrived- either straining for association or deliberately opaque- but enjoy when pairings like these merely occur.
